San Francisco is one of my absolute favorite places and it’s such an iconic spot to capture timeless photos! I love the wide range of locations that you can choose from and you can truly find something that fits exactly the vision you have for your engagement photos. Here are some of my favorite San Francisco engagement photos locations!
I love traveling and San Fran is definitely one of my favorite destinations! There is so much about this city that is iconic and magical to capture in photos. It’s also just the most fun place to explore!
I’ve been blessed to capture some really sweet couples here, and they were all so fun and ready for anything! You have to be flexible for photos in San Francisico, because you never know when it’s going to be foggy and you may be unable to see the bridge at all. But I’m always up for trying different spots and making sure you get the photos you’ve always wanted!
As I already mentioned, something I really love about San Francisco is that you can choose from so many beautiful spots for your photos and they will all end up breath-taking! Here are a few of my favorite locations for engagement photos in San Francisco.
This has to be the number one option, as it’s typically the most requested spot for photos in San Fran! For the couple above, we met at the top of Battery Park but couldn’t believe how foggy it was. So we had to be flexible! But, we ended up heading down to the bottom where we could see the bridge better and still got amazing pictures! This is just something to keep in mind if you want photos here, that you may need to move locations depending on the weather.
Baker Beach is another top-notch location in San Francisco for photos. You get the best of both worlds: views of the Golden Gate Bridge and gorgeous beach photos. There is so much room to explore here and you have a wide variety of other settings to take pictures all in walking distance. It does typically get busy, so we planned a sunrise session to beat the crowds and had the best time running around in the sand!
If you are looking for more of a city vibe for your photos over a beach vibe, then Pier 7 is a perfect option! It is a walkable pier that stretches into the Bay and you have views of the San Francisco Bay Bridge on one side, and some stunning city views on the other side. So you can capture some really breathtaking photos on this pier! You could also choose to venture out onto the Embarcadero and find some of the iconic spots to use as a backdrop.
Lover’s Lane Trail gives you a very different feel from most San Francisco locations. It is located in the Presidio and it is a stunning trail that is surrounded by a tunnel of trees. It’s such a fun place to walk around and all of the greenery is a perfect backdrop for engagement photos!
Land’s End Trail is another picturesque location for photos and is a very versatile location with rocky cliffs, gorgeous foliage, and of course views of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a great option for couples that are up for more exploring and being in the outdoors, but still have some of the iconic San Francisco views!
Fort Point is perfect for the couples that want the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, but don’t necessarily want to take beach photos. This spot has a walking path along the bay to take photos, and you can also havhe the historic Fort Point building behind you. It’s definitely a gorgeous option for San Francisco engagement photos!
Sausalito is outside of San Francisco, but is a great option to consider if it is too foggy near the bridge. It is a small town that has really beautiful hillside homes, and we could still get some gorgeous waterfront photos. This couple was so ready to go with the flow and we were able to just explore and enjoy the stunning views!
